Career Counseling
Dr Korn provides individualized career and academic consultations for undergraduates, graduates and professionals considering specific schools and disciplines as well as those embarking on advanced studies or careers. She specializes in Complementary and Alternative Medicine, including bodywork therapies, nutrition, naturopathy, acupuncture and counseling. She also works with students and professionals in third and fourth world public health and international development, non-profit careers and women's health.
She has taught and counseled at the university level at the BA, MA and doctoral levels in departments of psychology, psychiatry, medicine, education, counseling, nutrition, acupuncture, public health, and health education. She has received federal and state grants and her own career has spanned clinical, policy development, non-profit program development and consulting and research. She currently teaches career counseling at the graduate level and values the integration of personal growth spirituality and finding purpose and meaning through work.
In addition to her extensive practical knowledge of these fields and the professional and networking opportunities available through the many organizations to which she belongs she works with you to help you discover, define and honor your vision and draw from your wise self to create success. She also helps people identify the obstacles that derive from early life influences, concepts about money, class and status. Where advisable a number of assessment tools and evaluations may be used.
Among her advisees have been allopathic and naturopathic physicians, bodyworkers and massage therapists, lawyers, therapists, computer programmers, consultants and those working in the fields of rural health, international development, community advocacy, environmental health, ethnobotany, holistic business, and public health.
