Good evening. It's Friday January 15th, 2021 and this is First Selectman Christopher Spaulding with a coronavirus update.

Residents should also report positive cases directly to the Westport / Weston Health Department [] so that contact tracing can begin immediately to help contain the spread of the virus. As a reminder, COVID testing is available at local hospitals and emergency care facilities, as well as the St. Vincent Behavioral Health Facility on Long Lots Road. You can call to book an appointment at 1-860-972-8100. No prescription is required.

This virus has shown us that it only takes one infected person to spread COVID 19 to multiple other people in intimate environments where masks are not worn or social distance is not maintained. Asymptomatic spread of the virus can occur in congregations of any size. The state has issued guidelines that restrict gatherings to no more than 10 people.
